A Marie Curie Position for an Experienced Researcher at Histocell S.L. (Spain) - Neuroregeneration and Neurorepair Research. Histocell is situated at the Science and Technology Park of Bizkaia, only 5 minutes far from the Bilbao International Airport, and 15 minutes from the City centre. This ER-position is part of the ITN OLIMPIA a training network initiative built on research and development of innovative organic optoelectronic devices interfaced and integrated with living systems. The living systems of choice are neural cells (glia and neuron) that will be interfaced and integrated in vitro and in vivo with different organic electronic and optoelectronic devices. The major objective of OLIMPIA is to establish an innovative training program aimed at enabling and supporting the development of a novel supradisciplinary field that combines the worlds of organic optoelectronics and of neuroscience. Description Experienced Researcher Marie Curie ITN Training Program HISTOCELL is a biopharmaceutical company developing Cell Therapy & Tissue Engineering products for Regenerative Medicine. Histocell will be directly involved in the training of researchers through. “Design and evaluation of biocompatibility of organic optoelectronics materials, by means of a high throughput in vitro nervous system model based on nerve cell lines. Analysis of the influence of organic optoelectronics built with biocompatible materials on cell adhesion, proliferation, differentiation and viability, with marked emphasis on neurite generation”. Currently we are looking for: A full-time Research Scientist (40 hours per week), during 20 months. Expertise and experience required We are looking for an experienced researcher (ER) with a strong background in Biomaterials and their application to Neurosciences who had recently obtained a PhD degree in this field or related fields. He/she can demonstrate the ability to work independently and in coordination with other participants of multidisciplinary projects. The candidate should be able to use his/her strong skills in the combination of biomaterials and cell cultures, and in analytical techniques, gene expression, immunocytochemistry, fluorescence microscopy imaging and electrophysiology. The candidate should also be familiar with or highly motivated to learn and perform biocompatibility experimental designs following established regulatory rules (ISO 10993). Main training field and skills: • Cellular assays to measure viability, proliferation, and apoptosis. • Experienced in protein, DNA and RNA methods including western blot analysis, recombinant DNA technology, and RT-PCR. • Immunologic techniques including immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry. • Fluorescence microscopy. • Ca+2 imaging and electrophysiology. • Quality control systems and procedures. We offer a contract with standard EC Marie Curie ITN retributions: Living Allowance (34.000€ gross earning), and in addition Mobility Allowance around 700€ per month (higher mobility allowance for researchers with family). Requirements • Degree: PhD (less than 5 years as PhD degree) • Degree field: Biological sciences, (Bio)Chemistry, Pharmaceutical • Required Languages: English (Fluent).
