Bistro1909 is a family owned company which owns two restaurants in the old town of the city Alcudia in Mallorca, Spain. Bistro 1909 Alcudia and Bistro1909 Plaza are both open for lunch and dinner and has each a capacity of 30 covers on the street terrace and 25 inside. The menu is presenting local ingredients in a global setting. Several classics are side-by-side original Bistro1909 dishes. The kitchen and service team consists of eight persons. The restaurants are open from March through October. Bistro1909 has Scandinavian owners and the company language is English. Chef The chef is working directly under the owners. The chef takes on all normal duties in the kitchen, but is also responsible for the planning and execution of the daily operations. The responsibilities include personnel, purchasing, hygiene, economical control, expediting and quality control. The kitchen consists of 4 persons. We believe that you have education and/or relevant experience from a la carte cooking and taking responsibility for operations and/or staff. You need to speak good English. You must have a strong interest in your job. You are a person who looks for interesting experiences and you can function well in a foreign environment as well as in a highly stressful situation. You understand the importance of communication. You are a problem solver and you are capable of being flexible. You are also socially skilled and enjoy to work close to other people. You are physically fit to handle sometimes hard work in a hot climate. More than anything you are truly interested to learn new things and you have a passion for your job. The employment starts 1 April and finishes for the season 31 October. The salary is according to agreement. The company will provide Social Security and insurance according to Spanish law.
